Here are some helpful tips on developing some helpful coping strategies which could help reduce those feelings of anxiety and depression.

  • Challenge yourself to drink plenty water.

  • Reading self help books. Example, Mind over Mood.

  • Go outside in nature each day and explore and go on a walk.

  • Exercise for 30 minutes daily. For example: Yoga, cardio or strength training.

  • Eating vegetables daily.

  • Challenge negative and automatic thoughts.

  • Writing about gratitude and here write about what you are most thankful for.

  • Developing a safety plan and hope kit.

What are your effective coping strategies for stress and anxiety? One of the most effective ways which I have found to be the most helpful for me is by journaling your thoughts and putting them on paper in the morning. Then write out your thoughts in the evening before you go to bed. Write down your worries, emotions and feelings about what is going on for you right now. You could write about what is going on for you in the present moment and describe what is happening for you right now. The next step is to then sit in mediation which can be done by listening to a guided mediation or listening to soothing music. You can allow yourself to be still and allow your mind to relax. During this time I focus on my breathing and put all focus on the breathe. After journaling and mediating I try to then drink a glass of water in the morning when I wake up and before sleeping.
